From Doubtful to "Valuable" 

Oakland A's Catcher Terry Steinbach was doubtful to play in the 1988 MLB All Star Game but instead hits a home run off Dwight Gooden on his way to becoming the games MVP.  Did you know Terry Steinbach is the only player to hit a home run in his first Major League at bat as well as his first Major League All Star at bat.
